ESG × IT Roundtable Series
ESG data is everywhere in the organization: in ERP systems, data warehouses, HR and financial systems, at suppliers and often in dozens of Excel files. Yet IT is late in becoming involved in ESG in many organizations. For example, when an ESG tool has already been selected, when links with existing systems are necessary or when manual data collection is no longer scalable. That can be done differently!
In a partnership between Salacia Solutions, Delaware and Assets Only, we are organizing the ESG × IT Roundtable Series. In this project, we bring together professionals from ESG, IT and Data to find answers to the following question:
How do we ensure that ESG data becomes part of the organization’s data and IT landscape from the start – so that we can not only report reliably, but ultimately actually manage impact?
Three separate sessions, complementary to each other in small-scale sessions, combined with practical cases, concrete insights and, above all, plenty of room to exchange experiences, dilemmas and solutions with colleagues.
Why ESG × IT?
ESG professionals know what information is needed to report on and manage sustainability. But to make that information available reliably, traceably and scalably, collaboration with IT and Data is essential. In practice, we still regularly see that:
- ESG data is spread across different departments, systems and spreadsheets;
- IT is only involved after an ESG tool or working method has already been chosen;
- Selected solutions are not sufficiently compatible with the existing enterprise and data architecture.
- a lot of time is lost on manual data collection and checks;
- ownership, data quality and governance are insufficiently structured;
- organisations can report, but do not yet use the available ESG data sufficiently to steer during the year.
By bringing IT, Data and ESG together earlier, organizations can make different choices: solutions that fit within the existing architecture, smarter integrations, less manual work, more reliable data and ultimately better information to base decisions on. We will work on that during these roundtables.
About the ESG x IT Roundtable Series
The ESG × IT Roundtable Series consists of three separate meetings. Each session deals with a different phase of the same journey. You can attend one or more meetings that match your issue. The sessions are therefore emphatically not intended as one course and can be attended separately.
Roundtable 1 - Choose & Design
How do you design an ESG data architecture and choose tooling that actually fits into your IT landscape?

An ESG software selection may seem like a Sustainability issue at first, but the choices made at the beginning have major consequences for IT.
Where is the required data located? Which systems are leading? What integrations are needed? Does new tooling fit within the existing architecture? And when do you involve IT in an RFI/RFP or software selection?
During this roundtable we will discuss, among other things:
- the place of ESG within your enterprise and data architecture;
- the role of IT and Data in ESG tool selection;
- requirements vanuit ESG versus requirements vanuit IT;
- how to prevent ESG from creating a new data silo;
- how to set up an appropriate RFI/RFP and selection procedure;
- which stakeholders you need and when for a successful implementation.
Based on a concrete practical case, we investigate together how to get ESG, IT and Data at the same table before a tool or architecture is chosen.
About the initiators
The ESG × IT Roundtable Series is a joint initiative of Salacia Solutions, Delaware and Assets Only. mWe look at the same issue from different angles.
Salacia Solutions helps organizations to collect, manage, analyze and report ESG data in a structured way, making reliable ESG information available in a scalable way.
Delaware looks at ESG from the broader data, application and IT landscape. Based on the existing architecture – including ERP, data warehouse and integration platforms – it is determined how ESG data can best be integrated and which technology fits with it. Delaware has expertise in Microsoft, SAP and Databricks, among others.
Assets Only approaches ESG data as an enterprise issue and connects ESG strategy with the necessary data and integration capabilities. From a system-agnostic view of the enterprise data warehouse, among other things, Assets Only helps organizations to build reliable ESG information and then use it for continuous improvement and management.
Our organizations have perspectives, but we have the same starting point: ESG, IT and Data need to sit down with each other sooner.

- Each meeting is deliberately small-scale and interactive.
- We start with a short substantive introduction and a practical case of an organization that has itself encountered the ESG × IT issue in question.
- Then we sit down together. Peers share each other’s challenges, discuss dilemmas and jointly investigate how different organizations approach the issue.

- A better picture of the maturity of your own ESG data environment;
- Practical points of attention for architecture, integration and governance;
- Tools to bring ESG, IT and Data together within your own organization earlier;

The roundtables are intended for professionals who are involved in the collection, organization, integration or use of ESG data from the perspective of IT, Data, ESG/Sustainability and related responsibilities.
IT Managers, CIO’s, Data Leads, Enterprise/Data Architects, Sustainability Managers, ESG Managers en verantwoordelijken voor ESG-reporting.
The meetings are cross-sectoral and are relevant for organisations in manufacturing, food, finance, healthcare and the public sector, among others.
Do you work from ESG or Sustainability and do you recognize the above challenges? Then consider participating together with your colleague from IT or Data. The same applies the other way around: if you work from IT or Data, this can be an excellent time to bring your ESG colleague along.
