Ondernemers-akkoord 2030: Nederland verdient beter

On 2 September 2026, Salacia Solutions joined 100 Dutch companies and five political parties in signing the Entrepreneurs’ Agreement 2030. The agreement brings business and politics together around a shared ambition: building a Dutch economy that is sustainable, competitive and future-proof.

The agreement was officially signed during a CEO dinner at Naturalis Biodiversity Center in Leiden, bringing together business leaders and political representatives to discuss how the Netherlands can strengthen its future earning capacity while responding to environmental and societal challenges.

For Salacia, being part of this initiative is a natural fit. We believe that sustainable business and economic success should reinforce one another and that organisations need the right data and insights to turn sustainability ambitions into meaningful action.

A different view of sustainable growth

The Entrepreneurs’ Agreement 2030 starts from an important premise: sustainability is not separate from economic strength.

The Netherlands faces increasing pressure on natural resources, climate, biodiversity and supply chains. At the same time, companies need to remain innovative and competitive in an increasingly complex global economy.

The agreement therefore focuses on building an economy where sustainability, resilience and competitiveness go hand in hand.

The 100 participating companies represent around €50 billion in combined revenue and more than 200,000 employees. Together with political parties, they are committing to concrete steps towards an economy that works better for people, nature and businesses.

Future Up, the organisation behind the initiative, identifies three key areas for action:

  • Preserve resources – moving towards a circular, fossil-free economy based on reuse, repair, bio-based materials and recycling.
  • Work with nature – creating space for healthy water, clean air, fertile soil and nature-inclusive economic activity.
  • Create a level playing field – ensuring that businesses investing in sustainable solutions are not disadvantaged by outdated incentives or unfair competition.

These are not only environmental challenges. They are also strategic business challenges.

From commitments to measurable action

Signing an agreement is an important step. But commitments only become meaningful when they translate into action and when progress can be measured.

This is where reliable sustainability data becomes essential.

Organisations need to understand their environmental impact, identify where the greatest risks and opportunities lie, set meaningful targets and track whether their actions are delivering results.

Without reliable data, it is difficult to answer fundamental questions:

Where are we today?
Where do we need to go?
Which actions will have the greatest impact?
And are we actually making progress?

Data turns sustainability from an ambition into something organisations can manage.

Making ESG part of business decisions

At Salacia Solutions, we help organisations bring their ESG data together and turn it into actionable insight.

We believe sustainability should not be treated as an annual reporting exercise that sits alongside the business. It should become part of how organisations manage performance, assess risks and make strategic decisions.

This is particularly important as companies move from setting sustainability ambitions towards implementing them across their operations and value chains.

Better data can help organisations identify hotspots, prioritise action and create transparency around progress. It also makes it easier to connect sustainability performance with broader business objectives.

The goal is not simply to report what happened. It is to use better information to decide what happens next.

Business and politics have a role to play

One of the strengths of the Entrepreneurs’ Agreement 2030 is that it recognises that sustainable transformation cannot be achieved by businesses alone.

Companies can innovate, invest and change the way they operate. But they also need a policy environment that rewards sustainable choices and creates a fair and predictable playing field.

Future Up has been calling for exactly that: an economy where companies can grow sustainably while remaining competitive. The organisation argues that long-term investment, collaboration and consistent policy are needed to accelerate the transition.

The agreement brings these perspectives together.

It creates a shared commitment between companies that are willing to act and political parties that can help create the conditions in which those actions can scale.

The real work starts now

The signing of the Entrepreneurs’ Agreement 2030 is a milestone but it is not the destination.

The real test will be what happens next: whether commitments are translated into investments, operational changes, measurable improvements and long-term business decisions.

At Salacia Solutions, we are proud to be part of this initiative and to contribute from our own area of expertise: helping organisations gain control over their ESG data and use it to drive meaningful progress.

Because building a future-proof economy requires more than good intentions.

It requires commitment, collaboration and the insight to turn ambition into measurable action.
