On April 22, the world once again marked Earth Day – a day dedicated to reflecting on our planet and the responsibility we all share. Together with our partner Nexio Projects, we used this day not only to reflect, but more importantly, to take action.
And we did so with a program that inspired, connected, and challenged us.
An inspiring start with Klabu
The day kicked off with a powerful and energetic session by Klabu. It quickly became clear this was not going to be a standard presentation. With contagious passion, they shared the story of an organization using sport as a tool for connection and hope.
Klabu focuses on establishing sports clubs in refugee camps, creating spaces where people can not only be active but also come together, be themselves, and regain a sense of perspective. Sport as a universal language – accessible, unifying, and powerful.
Their story resonated deeply. It encouraged us not only to reflect, but to act. How can we, each in our own way, contribute to initiatives like this?
That idea became tangible immediately: every participant received a Klabu shirt. Nexio employees in fresh green, and our colleagues in purple/orange – a subtle yet powerful way to strengthen team spirit and engagement. The reactions were overwhelmingly positive, not just because of the gift, but because of what it represents.
From inspiration to action: collaborating with the Rainforest Alliance
After a short break, we moved into the next part of the program – turning inspiration into action. We welcomed a strong delegation from the Rainforest Alliance, an organization dedicated to promoting sustainable agriculture, improving farmers’ livelihoods, and protecting biodiversity worldwide.
Following an introduction to their mission, ambitions, and current challenges, we got to work. Participants were divided into four teams, intentionally composed of diverse backgrounds and expertise – a great mix of perspectives.
The power of collaboration and fresh perspectives
During the breakout sessions, the energy was immediate. Teams dove into the cases, asked critical questions, and explored solutions in depth. Each group was supported by one or two representatives from the Rainforest Alliance, allowing for meaningful dialogue and deeper understanding.
It was inspiring to see different working styles come together. Some brought structure, others creativity, while others challenged assumptions. That combination led to strong discussions and valuable outcomes.
Within a short timeframe, ideas were developed and shaped into presentations, which were then shared with the full group.
What stood out was the genuine interest in each other’s perspectives. People listened carefully, asked questions, and built upon each other’s ideas. The collaboration felt natural and constructive.
Ending the day with energy and connection
After an intensive and insightful program, it was time to unwind. A lively quiz – filled with questions about climate, sustainability, and regulations – brought out a healthy sense of competition.
The friendly rivalry between Nexio and Salacia added to the energy. Teams competed enthusiastically, with plenty of laughter along the way. In the end, one of the Salacia teams claimed a well-deserved victory.
We wrapped up the day with drinks, great conversations, and fresh pizza – the perfect way to reflect on a successful day together.
Looking ahead
This Earth Day was more than just an inspiring event. It was a day of learning, collaboration, and taking meaningful steps toward greater impact.
It showed what’s possible when you bring together knowledge, energy, and ambition – and when you work together toward a shared goal.
We look back on this day with pride and are already looking forward to the next edition.
