From November 2021 to the end of March 2022, Erich Molz (32) interned at Salacia. He did this as part of his Environment & Resource Management studies at VU University Amsterdam. After his internship, the German student was asked by Salacia to join as a permanent employee. Erich happily signed the contract, moved from Amsterdam to Rotterdam with his girlfriend, and started as a Sustainability Expert in September 2022.
Multifaceted work with a higher purpose
Erich helps clients with sustainability calculations. “I support new clients with onboarding to our ESG platform and ensure accurate impact calculations,” he explains. “I also help our clients with how companies can best comply with the new EU regulations on sustainability reporting. The goal is to automate as much as possible for our clients.” Erich describes his work as multifaceted and serving a higher purpose. That gives him satisfaction and fits perfectly into the path he has mapped out for himself.
“In Germany, I worked for a sustainability foundation, where I was a project officer. That work was the trigger for me to want to learn more about sustainability and actually do something with it. Other studies I’ve taken include psychology and peace and conflict studies. However, my work for the foundation made me realize I wanted a job where I could make an impact. That’s why I moved to Amsterdam to study Environment & Resource Management. I couldn’t have imagined that I would end up at Salacia.”
Contributing to a better world tomorrow
Erich sees Salacia as a catalyst: “At Salacia, I can actively contribute to a better world tomorrow. Salacia is a true accelerator for companies with sustainability ambitions. We’re relatively new, but we’re already a key cog in the larger cogwheel of sustainability programs. We have an impact and are a true enabler. I’m proud of that!”
